Works pretty good I took a few apart to add more solder rings in 1 sleeve to make sure I had a solid connection. I used a matco propane heat gun with a deflector, only hold it on for 3-5 seconds at a time until you see the soldier liquefy and disperse
These clever little deals take a lot of the effort out of soldering wires together. You can use a pinch connector and most of the time it will hold but solder is better and the solder is inside this guy and all you need is a little butane torch and your good to go. Leave the heat on the connector until you see the solder melt. The plastic is tougher than you think. Keep the torch moving slightly don't hold it in one place and you will be happy with the result.
A friend had an emergency repair to make on a tractor. He says that these splices work slick. Just as they are designed to work. Never tested the water tightness aspect of this product.
Amazing product. I used to solder all my wires and add shrinkwrap after the joint was soldered. This was so much easier. I used a Wagner heat gun. I tried the low setting but needed to use the high setting due to the freezing temps. Took me about 20 minutes to repair 8 lights on my snowmobile trailer. I have recommended these to everyone at work. Very happy I purchased the larger kit. I will buy it again.
I needed to fix the wiring on a motorcycle and saw these. I was skeptical at first but figured these were worth a try. I am impressed. The connection is strong, the solder melts well and the plastic doesn't scorch or burn. Easy, mess-free way to make soldered connections. I'll use these on everything.
